Cavendish Triumphs on Giro’s Opening Stage

The British cycling zone must be in an amazing mood lately. Mark Cavendish, one of the most eminent Briton sprinters from Omega Pharma team has won over the opening stage of Giro d’Italia on last Saturday.

The principle pack was divided into 2 groups & riders rode down a little over a mile to ride in 81-mile leg & only a few cyclists were in front contesting the sprint. Mark won in two hours, fifty eight minutes & thirty eight seconds at the inaugural stage which had a crash a little prior to the finish. Seemingly partially blocked off behind a little group powered by Orica GreenEdge (Australian squad) after some of the sprinters sheered clear due to late crash, Mark resolved the affair with his brilliant late acceleration that led him to be the first one to reach up to the finishing line.

Review of KTM 990 DUKE R

The KTM 990 Duke R is a well reputed bike across the globe. The advent of the V2 class has been splendidly shown off in its design. The 990 cc or the liter class does indeed pack a punch and the price tag on one of these babies ensures scanty presence on the streets. If you are looking for that shock and awe effect you need not look further.

The badge has been retagged to Duke ‘R’ because of its powder coated tubular space frame made form chrome molybdenum steel and a bolted-on sub frame which provides a steeper head angle to steering. The braking system to this beast is also state of the art with a radically placed four piston system comprised of Brembo calipers on the disc of the front wheel. The suspension is no other than the WP shock absorbers and dampers which is renowned for being top notch in suspension fittings.

The BH UltraLight Red/Reynolds

As you can gather from the name itself, the BH UltraLight Red/Reynolds 32 is truly one of the most efficient and lightest bikes meant for road racing. With a frame of 56 cm, this bike is just 11 pounds heavy. It has got 2x10 gearing and it’s a carbon racing bike. Manufactured by
BH Road Bikes, this stunner was released in the year 2012 and it’s been worth the cash.

It has a fork of integrated carbon molded UL full crown race and the front and rear tires are 700x24 of Vittoria Diamante Pro Radial. It also comes with a carbon tapered 15mm headset.

The drive train details of the BH UltraLight Red/Reynolds 32 are also worth a mention. With a SRAM RED 11-26 cassette and an SRAM 1090 Powerlock chain, this bike is not just neat and light but also very powerful and flexible. Both, the front and rear Derailleur are of SRAM Red.

Wiggins bags the British Sports Journalist award

It wasn’t an easy decision to make, but at last the British Sports Journalist award was handed to British cyclist Bradley Wiggins. Wiggins is the first ever Briton to win the Tour de France and it seems that it was enough to clinch him the award. He got the maximum number of votes beating U.S. Open champion Andy Murray and Olympic gold medalist Mo Farah. Jessica Ennis received the sportswoman of the year award for winning the gold medal in the heptathlon department. Ennis got the award for the third time in the last four years. Ennis also won the Pat Besford Trophy for exceptional performance of the year.

Alberto Contador not to take part in Beijing

The Chinese fans will be thoroughly disappointed to know that Alberto Contador is not taking part in the Tour de Beijing. The Spaniard who returned to cycling after surviving a two year doping ban doesn’t want to participate in an event which is “pointless”. According to the rules of UCI Contador’s World Tour points won’t count as he is returning from a doping ban.

Contador won the Grand Tour Championship for five times and the Chinese fans were super excited to see him around. He also won the Vuelta a Espana this year just after returning from the ban. It has been stated earlier that Alberto Contador would participate in Beijing from October 9-13. But recently Bjarne Riis, the manager of Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank Team said that he wouldn’t be a part of it. He added that it would be wastage of energy for Contador to travel to Beijing and taking part in the race as he won’t be getting any World Points in the elite category even if he secures the first spot.

Lance Armstrong Escaped Hotel Raid

Disgraced former Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong, who was recently stripped of all his titles and awards as well as banned for life for being a dope cheat by the US Anti Doping Agency escaped a hotel raid by the police in France by the skin of his teeth, just because he was, at that time, being ‘protected in the country’, according to a French lawyer. The cycling legend has recently been handed the sanction by the US Anti Doping Agency after he refused to exercise his right for arbitration at a neutral and independent hearing.

Fabian Cancellara returns

Fabian Cancellara returned to competitory battle last week at the Bayern-Rundfahrt; the Swiss rider told that the race was a utilitarian guess of his form in front of his targets later in summer. After the classics drive was cut little by broken collarbone suffered in a smash at Tour of Flanders, Fabian Cancellara changed his aim to formulations for the 2012 London Olympics especially, even though he stated that his convalescence had been much more complicated compared than it is anticipated.

Fabian left Bayern-Rundfahrt on final level, whereas a day before, he might only handle 14th in time trial, 1:15 low on Michael Rogers, the winner. Given the path he has moved around since 1st April, still, Fabian Cancellara was simply pleased to come back in battle.

While speaking to Het Nieuwsblad, Fabian Cancellara told that he is convinced that this was a nice race to get into the contest. One knows that when one is not in status, a time of that sort really tough.

WHAT MAKES A GOOD BIKE REVIEW

Bikes as we know them, isn’t the only ones available. There are a whole lot of bikes depending upon their performance and the terrain they are suitable for. For example a racing bike will be different from a mountain bike.
